The Worth Ryder Art Gallery (WRAG) is an educational art space that has served as a cultural and artistic resource and community center for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, alumni, and the Bay Area community since 1960, and is a central social and artistic hub of the UC Berkeley Department of Art Practice.
The gallery supports students in exhibiting their artwork in a professional gallery context, serves as an exhibition platform for emerging contemporary artistic strategies, and brings challenging and thought-provoking artwork to the UC Berkeley campus. It is named after painter and founding chair of the department, Worth Ryder.
VIDRINE is our ancillary space showcasing video, digital art, and installation. It is located around the corner from the Worth Ryder Art Gallery in the lobby of the Anthropology and Art Building.

Both Sides Now 10
Curated by UK-based videoclub and Dr. Isaac Leung from Hong Kong, Both Sides Now has, for ten
years, explored shifting cultural landscapes through moving image, connecting artists and audiences in
the UK, Hong Kong, and beyond. This celebratory chapter gathers ten works by artists from both
regions, selected from previous editions, to reflect on ten years of transformation in digital art, politics,
and identity.
The exhibition includes a dynamic mix of satire, experimental montage, speculative fiction, and queer
futurity, offering vivid insights into recurring themes such as media control, memory, labor, and
posthuman experience.
Featuring works by artists Choi Sai Ho, Jake Elwes, Rachel Maclean, Lawrence Lek, Linda Chiu-han Lai, Ellen Pau, Heather Phillipson, Joseph Chen, Marianna Simnett, and Angela Su, the exhibition reflects on the shifting cultural landscapes and creative visions that have shaped Both Sides Now over the past decade.
