Six Art Practice faculty and alumni included in prestigious Bay Area Now 9 exhibition

Congratulations to our current faculty and alumni who are part of Bay Area Now 9, Yerba Buena Center for the Art’s signature triennial exhibition highlighting artists working throughout the Bay Area’s nine counties. Congratulations Sholeh Asgary (Lecturer), José Figueroa (MFA’16), Connie Zheng (MFA’19), Heesoo Kwon (MFA’19), champoy (MFA’21), and Shirin Towfiq (BA’17). Exhibition runs October 6, 2023–May 5, 2024.

Each BAN is an attempt to answer the question: What are artists making, thinking, dreaming about right now? Central to BAN—and to YBCA as an institution—is the investment in and platforming of the vibrant creative communities which surround us.

Just a few Art Practice faculty and alums featured in previous iterations of Bay Area Now include: Anne Walsh, Brody Reiman, Stephanie Syjuco, Chris Kubick, Nicki Green, Andrew Wilson, and Sahar Khoury.
