‽‽‽ Interrobang: The Fall 2019 Honors Exhibition
As the Honors exhibition comes to a close, the Art Department would like to recognize our Honors students for their work this semester. Each semester a select few art majors who are creating outstanding work are chosen for the Honors Studio Program by the Department of Art Practice Faculty. They are awarded access to a shared studio space in Wurster Hall, and at the end of each semester they prepare a project for exhibition in the gallery. This is an amazing opportunity and space for these students to explore the cores of their practice with support and guidance from the art department faculty.
Bhobbie, one of the current Honors students, shared how impactful this program has been for her and her practice. “In Philipino there is a word we use for oneness, advocacy, and understanding of one another: kapwa. This was something I hadn’t felt in a long time until I found it again during my time in the program.” The art practice department is thankful for our Honors students and all that they have accomplished here at Berkeley!
Interrobang/Interabang: a printed punctuation mark (‽), available only in some typefaces, designed to combine the question mark (?) and the exclamation point (!), indicating a mixture of query and interjection, as after a rhetorical question.
