Check out Katayoun Bahrami’s video installation Quest in our ancillary space, VIDRINE, right around the corner from the Worth Ryder Art Gallery.
Quest is a mixed media installation including video, crocheted stones, and text. It reflects the struggle to remove the elements that dominate women's bodies regardless of the consequences, taking the protagonist to the extent of self-sacrifice.
Bahrami’s work reflects memories from her home country juxtaposed with her current reality. As an Iranian, female artist, her research activities investigate the intersections of boundaries, identity, and women.
Born in Tehran in 1981, Bahrami earned a BFA from the University of Science and Culture in Iran. She also earned an MA in Arts and Cultural Management—Museum Studies from Michigan State University in 2017, and in 2022, she graduated from California College of the Arts with an MFA in Studio Arts.
Please come join us in viewing Bahrami’s profound work this summer!
