Spring 2021 Ceramics Visiting Artist Lecture Series Presents:

Sharif Farrag

Sharif Farrag merges classic ceramics styles with his own improvisational building techniques, representing his hybrid identities through clay. He was born in 1993 in Reseda, California and received a BFA from the University of Southern California in 2018.

Farrag is currently a candidate for an MFA in ceramics at University of California at Los Angeles. In 2019 he was awarded a residency at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. His solo exhibitions include François Ghebaly, Los Angeles; In Lieu, Los Angeles; The Pit, Los Angeles; and 356 Mission, Los Angeles. Selected group exhibitions include the 2020 Clay Biennial at Craft Contemporary, Los Angeles; Adams and Ollman, Portland; and Matthew Brown, Los Angeles. His work will be featured in upcoming exhibitions at High Art, Arles and Jeffrey Deitch, New York. Farrag lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
