The student artists of Professor Christina Klein-Tross’ ART 13 Painting: Foundations course are excited to share a virtual exhibition of new paintings - now open to the public.

The artists used the vanitas genre to narrate their life experiences. Using symbols, objects of importance and excerpts of their journals as a starting point, these paintings depict the passage of time as seen through the youthful lens in the time of COVID.

The artists offer an optimistic snapshot of their daily lives, sharing the various emotions felt during this time of rapid change. They also played with lighting and color, taking into consideration how it can be viewed differently in different cultures.
