The Worth Ryder Art Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition that celebrates the students, teachers, and supporters of the UC Berkeley Bridging the Arts Program. On view in the gallery will be artworks created by local K – 12 students, created during lessons taught by Cal Student Instructors.
Please join us for an Opening Reception and Student / Faculty Silent Auction from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Bidding on affordably-priced, framed works of art by UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff will start at 4 pm and close at 6:30 pm. All proceeds will benefit the UC Berkeley Bridging the Arts Program. Come support our program and bring home a new work of art!
This will be a family-friendly event with refreshments and art activities.
Through UC Berkeley’s Bridging the Arts program, Cal students develop innovative arts curricula and teach K-12 students at Coronado Elementary School in Richmond, Richmond High School, Helms Middle School in San Pablo, and Westlake Middle School in Oakland. Bridging the Arts student instructors expand access to the arts while providing K-12 students with tools for critical investigation and analysis. Through hands-on projects, students explore their creative potential.
