Call for Work by Alumni Artists:
The 2018 UC Berkeley Art Alumni Group Exhibition
Wednesday, February 21st – Thursday, March 8th, 2018
Opening Reception: 5 – 8pm, Saturday, February 24th, 2018
The UC Berkeley Department of Art Practice and the Art Alumni Group are looking for alumni artists to be featured in a group exhibition. Our goal is to bring our alumni and students together to find new ways of serving our collective creative community.
We are looking for artists whose work addresses – practically or poetically – the extraordinary moment in which we find ourselves. The Art Alumni Group represents people of different generations, times, and experiences, with a broad range of relationships to history. But we create work in the present, a present where we clearly need to generate something new.
We welcome works in any media and are interested in a variety of creative practices outside the typical gallery ken (try us!), as well as traditional media. We plan to set up a video screening room, and are looking for work to appear in this venue.
THIS CALL IS CLOSED!
Submissions are due at 11:59pm, Friday, February 2nd, 2018.
Selection of the included artists will be decided by Worth Ryder Director and AAG President Farley Gwazda. Participants will be notified on Monday, February 5th.
If you have any questions about whether your work would be a good fit with this exhibition, or queries about the application process, please feel free to contact Farley Gwazda: gwazda(at)berkeley.edu
This exhibition is supported in part by a grant from the Cal Alumni Organization.
The Art Alumni Group welcomes donations, which we will put to excellent use by supporting the artists selected for this exhibition.
SAVE THE DATE!!! All our alumni, students, and the general public are invited to join us for an Opening Reception and Reunion Celebration, 5 – 8pm on Saturday, February 24th, 2018.
